Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this Dale Earnhardt NASCAR Trailer Hitch Receiver Cover. This is going to help cover your receiver tube on your hitch, and so that you don't have to worry about dirt and debris getting in there gunking it up and making it more difficult next time you wanna put in your ball mount or other hitch mounted accessory. This will slide right into your two inch by two inch trailer hitch receiver. You can see we've got these wire holds here that will slide in there that will hold it in place, and then when you pass your pin and clip through, that will lock it in place so it's not going to come out. So your pin and clip are not included, you probably already have one for your hitch, but if not, we do have lots of options available here at etrailer.com.
We also have locking pins available, so if you wanted to add a little extra security, make sure that no one could come along and take off with your cover, we have those available as well. Now, this is going to be right about just over four inches, we'll call it 4 1/8 of an inch in diameter. It's a cast alloy, so it is going to hold up really well for you, be very durable and corrosion resistant. It's got weather-hardened enamel color fill on it, so you're gonna have nice bright colors to show off your passion and interest in NASCAR, and specifically, Dale Earnhardt Jr. This is going to hold up well, so not only will it prevent dirt and debris from getting into your trailer hitch receiver, but it's also going to display that NASCAR eight symbol there, so everyone knows you're a big Dale Earnhardt Jr fan.

I bought this hitch cover after hours of searching for a design/photo/quality that I liked. I just put it on my car and it looks great! It survived some rain, and hopefully survives the crazy weather here in Colorado. I have not gotten my car washed yet, but if it seems to rust within soon time, I will advise through another review. So far, I this hitch cover was easy to install, looks good on my black SUV, and sturdy.
The hitch cover is very solid, but whatever was used for the colored portion is not good at all. The white section of the "A" is missing entire;y and the rest of the whit is coming off in one corner. See the pic I've attached. As I said great cover, solid and very nice, but really doesn't like to be outside, especially through the winter.

Thanks for following up, Laura. I love the trailer hitch cover - fits well, love that it’s metal and not plastic. However, within a couple weeks of having it, the paint in a few of the areas came off (the top half of the beak and the shoe should be yellow, part of the wing under the “chin” should be blue). I’m attaching a photo so you can see. It’s obviously not a big deal to me, because it’s been like this since 2 or 3 weeks after I got it and I didn’t send it back or complain, but I wanted to let you know.
The hitch fits tight and snug without any rattles. Its easy to install and looks fantastic.
This hitch cover was a complete waste of money. I use a hitch cover because I remove my ball when not in use so I don't constantly bump into it. As I live on a dirt road that is constantly salted for dust control, the empty hitch box rusts, making it difficult to insert the ball when I need it. This piece has no steel box to slide into the box hitch which can be greased to keep the opening rust free, it simply has a few flimsy clips. It was my fault for selecting it as it is the only cover that had a photo that did not show the steel extending out to slide into the box. So much for assuming it was well made. For the $30 price it makes one skeptical for ordering from the internet, this piece will go in a shelf and sit there looking pretty long after I am gone. e-trailer would do well to either add some better description for the item or not carry it because as it appears on the website it looks like they didn't show the back for a good reason. This is the back, I don't know why the manufacturer applied for a patent, no one in their right mind would copy this design.
I searched the internet for a good trailer hitch receiver cover and found the one I purchased from etrailer. I couldn't be happier. The quality is excellent and the detail if the Missouri Tigers logo is by far the best of anything else I could find. etrailer fulfilled the order quickly making the process easy and efficient. Would definitely recommend. Other periodic e-mails I receive from e-trailer provide good information and they appear to be a good resource to help any future needs I might have.
Within a few weeks of using it, the black paint completely came off.
Product is very nice except the wire brackets were too short had to straighten one out and rebended to fit my receiver didn't use 2nd wire GMC trucks have a longer trailer hitch you need to measure all hitch receivers pin holes so that your company can Mgf correct length

Hitch cover worked perfectly. Took 5 minutes to install - mainly because my OCD kicked in and I wanted to make absolutely sure it didn't move around at all. So easy a child could have done it.
Being a retired police officer I wanted a way to show my support for my brothers and sisters in blue without using decals or stickers. I found this police badge trailer hitch cover that was perfect. The price was reasonable and the badge was well made.

Very sturdy and solid. This hitch cover really stands out, in a good way. I'm not really a baseball fan, but the Indians logo is a good match to my Jeep. This will fit a 1 1/4" or 2" hitch receiver. Looks really cool once installed.
**NOTE: On the first install, the hitch cover will be hard to slide all the way in, don't panic. Once it goes in the first time, it will work everytime.

Very high quality mfg. Should weather well as a front end hitch cover. Since it is so attractive I would suggest having a hitch pin lock on it. I am sure some mope would rip this and put it on a chain around his neck!

First if you had a no star rating I would have selected that. The hitch cover was poorly made for a cold weather climate.
All of the coloured enamel has fallen off and just the metal is left. Would not purchase this item again. Anyone living in a cold weather climate beware.
The hitch cover was just as depicted, appears to be well and hopefully will withstand New England winter. Took some effort to get the hitch lock pin through the wire to secure the cover in place but the tight fit will keep it from rattling. Vehicle is a HD 3/4 ton pick up with the 2 1/2 inch box.
The master lock speaks for itself with a history of quality products.
This Hitch Cover is just outstanding!! Great quality and excellent detail. It's also very functional and the complements are pouring in. Here is the kicker, it's not on my truck or SUV, it's on my Honda Pioneer SxS. I always called it my Honda Horse anyway so this cover fits perfect in all aspects. Accurate description of product on e trailer site. Quality product, no flaws, chrome/paint excellent. Hitch cover fit receiver very well - solid, built in adjustability, rubber cusion ensured no rattles. Shipped quickly, well packed. Great doing business with e trailer!
Before I write a review I would like you to know that I have gotten plenty of comments on my hitch cover and ask where I had purchased it.
Unfortunately the blue colored plastic or vinyl, not sure what material it is on the top half of the hitch cover had come off about 6 months after I purchased the hitch cover. I still have the piece and just wondering if you can suggest what type of glue I can use to adhere it back onto the hitch cover. I thought I would send you a couple of pictures to show you. The green sections were gone before the end of the summer last year and Ihappen to spot the blue section flying in the breeze just ready to come off. The one green section remaining is just hanging on by a small corner.
Received my hitch cover this week. It is very good looking and heavy metal construction. It is different from other hitch covers in that it has a metal wire holding the cover in place as opposed to an integral cast connector. It is very tight and does not rattle. It also has a rubber gasket. I would recommend the product because of it's quality and good looks.
I bought two of these, one for each vehicle. My husbands looks wonderful, my Traverse hitch will not allow this to fit. The bumper is right there and we can't even put it in the 2 x 2 square.
But I love them, they are wonderfully well made..
Looks great, simple install. Installed using a locking hitch pin, no worries about theft.
